USS Ward and USS Chew docked together at Hilo, Hawaii. Both ships were part of DESDIV 80, which guarded the entrance to Pearl Harbor. The Ward replaced USS Chew on patrol December 6th after the former had mechanical difficulties and had to return to port. |
