  • The US Navy has a broad capacity for Special Warfare in many environments ranging from the blue oceans to the shores and rivers of the world. Specialized groups such are tasked with a variety of missions both in water and dry land that may require insertion by parachute, helicopter, boat, or even submarine.     SEAL (SEa, Air, & Land) units are tasked with special operations supporting the US Navy and Joint Special Operations Command. SBT's (Special Boat Team) and their Parent SBR's (Special Boat Squadrons) operate small watercraft in the littoral environment. EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) teams serve to destroy mines or other devices enemy forces might use against Navy or allied ships. DEVGRU (Developement Group) is a secret unit specializing in Naval counter-terrorism and replaced the muchm maligned SEAL Team 6. HCS-5 Firehawks operates the HH-60H Seahawk helicopter and is tasked with supporting Naval Special Operations as well as Combat Search And Rescue
