NSW 11-Meter RIB
 

The 11-meter RIB (Rigid-hull Inflatable Boat) is used by the US Navy's Special Boat Teams for insertion and extraction of special warfare units. IT is a twin-engine craft whose hull is partially rigid, and partially inflatable, giving it a light, strong design that can carry a good payload over long distances at high rates of speed. Normally three SWCC's crew the boat but more will embark as needed. The three main positions are:

  • Driver/Operator
  • Navigator/Communicator
  • Engine/Weapons More SWCC crewmembers may be attached to man weapons and communications gear as needed.
